Cocktails under 'Vodka'
This variation of the classic Sea Breeze, which uses orange juice rather than grapefruit, offers a light touch of sweetness to balance the citrus of the orange. Serve the cocktail well chilled to get the most from its appealing fruitiness.
INGREDIENTS:
- 60ml (2 oz) cranberry juice
- 60ml (2 oz) Absolut vodka
- 60ml (2 oz) freshly squeezed orange juice
EQUIPMENT:
- Shaker
- Strainer
- Highball glass
MIXING METHOD:
Fill the shaker with ice and pour in all the ingredients. Shake very briefly and then strain into a highball containing just one ice cube. Place a slice of orange in the glass and serve with a straw.

This elegant, long drink is light and refreshing, with subtle aromas. For the best results use Absolut or Finlandia vodka. If you prefer your mixes drier rather than sweeter, you could use soda water instead of lemonade.
INGREDIENTS:
- 30ml (1 oz) vodka
- Rose’s lime cordial and cranberry juice in equal measures, to taste
- Sparkling lemonade (Sprite or 7 Up)
EQUIPMENT:
- Highball glass
- Stirring spoon
MIXING METHOD:
Fill the highball with ice and pour in the ingredients, beginning with the vodka and ending with the lemonade. Stir gently and serve with a straw.

The Sea Breeze is thought to have been first mixed in 1920s in New York, but its present popularity owes much to Absolut, which - since 1990s - has promoted its brand as the perfect Sea Breeze vodka.

- 60ml (2 oz) vodka
- 120ml (4 oz) cranberry juice
- 60ml (2 oz) freshly squeezed grapefruit juice
EQUIPMENT:
- Shaker
- Strainer
- Highball glass
MIXING METHOD:
Fill the shaker with ice, and pour in the ingredients. Shake well and strain into the glass.

In the 1950s US oilmen in the Arabian desert used screwdrivers to stir their vodka-orange mixes, giving this cocktail its name.
INGREDIENTS:
- Freshly squeezed orange juice to fill
- 60ml (2 oz) vodka
EQUIPMENT:
- Highball glass
- Shaker
- Strainer
MIXING METHOD:
Place ice in the shaker. Pour in the juice and vodka; shake. Strain into a highball containing some ice. Garnish with a slice of orange and cherry.
